Reading List
A few resources that offer technical understanding, serve as a good reference, or have been great sources of inspiration for me.
The first few provide an in-depth look at the technology behind photography:
- The last word is a blog offering an analytic view on various aspects of photography.
- Strolls with my dog has a scope very similar to The last word, both are a great read.
- Photons to photos focuses mainly on the digital imaging sensor.
- Lens rentals: Geek Articles on the other hand looks at optics.
Next are three great resources on color:
- Bruce Lindbloom provides a concise reference of the math behind color spaces.
- The hitchhiker’s guide to digital colour is (as the name implies) an extensive guide to the intricacies of digital color, although a tad explicit.
- Handprint: color vision has a broader scope covering visual perception.
And then there’s these:
- Strobist provides an excellent guide to off-camera flash photography.
- Image processing on line is a scientific journal on image processing with demonstrations and source code of the discussed algorithms.
- Image sensors world follows developments around imaging sensor technology at a cursory level.
